Install where tenants frequent the most
It is important to install your thermostat in a high traffic area of the building so that the Motion sensing and Eco temperatures function properly.
If the old thermostat is in a bedroom or closet, you may need to run a new wire.
When you get to THIS SCREEN BELOW, click "Add"!
After you hit "Add", make sure you select your thermostat with the blue switch - (it should be blue).
If you accidentally skip past these screens you may have to perform a factory reset & start over!

Set The Eco Temperature
Along with Motion Sensing, this is how your tenants will save energy & money. With Motion Sensing turned on, and the settings shown here, the thermostat will only change to the eco temperature when the thermostat does not sense movement in front of it for 2 hours.
We recommend a low Eco temperature to maximize savings, but many people prefer something closer to 60ºF so they are comfortable whenever they get home without having to plan ahead.
To change the Eco temperature within the Google Home App on your phone:
Open the Google Home App »
Select your thermostat »
Navigate to the small Cogwheel »
Temperature preferences »
Temperature presets » Eco
(It should appear just before the
Safety temperatures in the last window)
We also recommend you raise the Safety Temperature to 45ºF.
